Awards and achievements
The Empowering Children Foundation has received several awards for its activity.
The most important of them include:
- Award in the competition for Polish NGOs organised by the Batory Foundation and Bankers Trust /1999/
- “Golden Telephone” – honorary badge granted by “Blue Line”, an emergency hotline for victims of domestic violence /1999/
- Special award in the 3rdedition of the Pro Publico Bono contest /2001/
- Award granted by the Warsaw City Hall /2001/
- “Heart for Children” award granted by the authorities of Praga Południe, one of Warsaw districts /2002/
- ISPCAN 2004 Multidisciplinary Team Award – international prize for organisations dealing with child abuse, granted by the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect /2004/
- “2005 Online Citizen of the Year” – award for contribution to the development of the civic society, granted by Civic Internet /2005/
- Awards granted by the Praga Poludnie Social Services Centre for two programmes: Good Parent, Good Start and Academy of Safer Internet (now Child in the Web) /2007/
- Prize in the 10th edition of the Best Civic Work Pro Publico Bono in the “Service to Humanity” category /2008/
- Honorary Prize of Children’s Ombudsman Pro Infantis Bono/2009/
- Ministry of Education’s Award Educational Initiative of the Year for the project “3 .. 2 .. 1 .. Internet” launched jointly with Microsoft /2010/
- Saint John Prize awarded by the Saint John of Jerusalem Foundation /2010/
- Ombudsman’s Honorary Prize for Contribution to Protection of Human Rights/2011/
- 2011 Leader of the SAFER TOGETHER Programme, Ministry of Internal Affairs /2012/
- Winner of the “Discover e-Volunteerism” contest for the project “E-help for children and young people” /2013/
- “Family Physician’s Friend” – honorary title granted by the Polish Association of Family Medicine /2014/
- INFANTIS DIGNITATIS DEFENSORI – honorary badge for contribution to children’s rights, granted by the Children’s Ombudsman /2014/
- “Children’s Rights Sheriff” – title granted by children on the initiative of UNICEF /2014/
- Sektor 3.0 Award granted by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation /2017/
- The Jan Wejchert Polish Business Council Award in the category of “Social activities” for Monika Sajkowka /2017/
- “They do great things, continually proving that nothing is impossible.” Monika Sajkowska took part in PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Torch Relay preceding the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and carried Olympic Torch among other people from all around the world invited to do so /2018/
- Architect of Development Prize 2018 awarded by the United Nations Global Compact Poland /2018/
- “Active against depression” title granted by the Active against Depression Association (Stowarzyszenie Aktywnie przeciwko Depresji) /2019/
